We decided to wait an extra day before taking the wheel and heading off to the west. My sister had her graduation party last night and I really didn’t want to miss that; plus, my parents had lots of yard work to finish before the cookout. So we headed off at about 5:15 this morning, only to find ourselves turning around before making it out of the neighborhood because I forgot the gas cards. After about 4 hours into the drive I got bored and antsy so I popped in my special made CD: the Backstreet Boys, Nsync, S Club 7 and Spice Girls. (I don’t really listen to that but I knew it would lighten up the trip.) I warned Steveo about the CD so he was not too excited. But not to my surprise, he started singing along after a few songs. To keep him entertained after the CD, I decided to read him the cool stories of the deaths in the Grand Canyon , courtesy of Lynn and Tanya. 7-8 hours into the trip we took a break in Atlanta to eat at the ever so famous Varsity diner. It’s a different world then Titusville . Let’s just say Steveo wore his camo hat and he was the only one of his kind. The onion rings and french fries were amazing but the cheeseburger and chicken tenders were nothing to remember. I took the wheel for a few hours after we ate so Steveo could take a nap but little did I know I was having to drive through the Tennessee mountains and then into traffic through downtown Nashville. (fyi: I hate big curvy roads and big city traffic.) I made it though and Steveo finished up the rest of the drive through Kentucky to the Wal-Mart in Marion , Illinois . We put the tailgate down, made some Ramen Noodles, folded down the chairs to make a bed and here we are now. Steveos doing homework and I’m blogging then reading ‘Making the Most of Your Life’ by Kirk Nowery, courtesy of my mommy. Oh and we did buy black poster board to cover up some of the windows to feel a little safer, and yes Steveo has a gun just incase. More to come…
